U.S. Drug overdose death rate Map
The U.S. Drug Overdose Death Rate Map provides a geographic overview of the number of drug overdose deaths per 100,000 by county. The data are estimates from the National Vital Statistics System multiple cause of death mortality files from Center for Disease Control. The age-adjusted death rates are calculated using the U.S. census population data. The map allows users to explore the change in drug overdose death rates from 2001 to 2016, as well as 2016 opioid prescription rate by county. This map is a part of the MAPI Foundation’s U.S. manufacturing location assistance project, aimed at supporting domestic manufacturing footprint investment decisions.
